First EAS Active Workout

I just finished my very first workout of the 30-Day Challenge on EAS Active. Here are my thoughts:

*I did medium intensity and felt it was not very challenging. Maybe just because it is Day One?? I was sweaty, but not

*I did have trouble w/the second set of squats… I am battling by back condition and couldn’t get low enough for it to register. I ended up skipping over it so that I didn’t injure myself further. Yes, Jodi (my physical therapist), my lower abs were tight. Hi!!!

*I might think about using a thicker resistance band.

*I like the inline skating.

*I used my Wii Board with it. Do you?

*I should have really worn a sports bra while doing it. Ouch.

I made my big re-debut at the gym this morning and it felt damn good! I set my alarm to wake up at 7, but I was tired and hit snooze. Naughty, I know. The twins had baseball until 10:45am, but child watch at the Y is open until noon. I took them to child watch for the first time ever and went to get my workout in. I did 35 minutes of cardio, 2.6 miles, then 25 minutes of weights. It felt great to get some exercise, except for the PAINS I HAVE BEEN HAVING FOR TWO MONTHS NOW. I did stretch too, so hopefully between regularly exercising again and my ongoing chiropractor visits I can kick this injury once and for all!

Workin’ It

My husband’s parents came and picked the kids up for the afternoon, so it was the perfect time for me to get my fat ass back to the gym. Can I tell you how much I hate midday gym workouts??

It felt good to be back (sort of), I just need to figure out a way to get there in the mornings again, with the four rugrats tailing behind.

Today, I did 25 minutes on the Precor AMT and 20 on the Precor EFX, along with a half hour of arm/ab weights. Not bad for barely exercising the past month! My leg/ass pain was persistent, but bearable.

I love how exercise makes me feel, so why is it SO HARD to “get there”??

True Confessions – Melissa

1. I’m still Shredding. Just finished today’s workout. Check out my progress here.

2. I missed Saturday.

3. I took last week off of the gym.

4. I went to the gym today. It felt good.

5. I came home and popped Jillian Michaels in.

6. Level 2 is so much harder after you have already bench pressed and done other shoulder/arm exercises. O.M.G.

7. I am super boring today, ladies and gents… I am still trying to catch my breath. ;o)

Hopefully your confessions are a little more exciting then mine.

Death Becomes Me

OMG. I just finished my first day in Level 2 of the 30 Day Shred. I am literally dripping with sweat.

First off, I want to ask those of you who are shredding… the last two days I have been having lower back pain and on the left side it goes down into my ass. Not my “soreness” from working my muscles. It feels like I have a pinched nerve or something. It sucks. And I am having issues with my right knee. Is anyone else experiencing these things??

Okay, about Level 2.

*Jillian, careful… your girls are about to fly out of your bra.

*It was awesome to have a change. 10 days of the same thing every day is boring. I don’t do well with boredom.

*I am not sure I was able to complete ANY exercise with doing ALL of the reps.

*I like this better than Level 1… so far.

*Holy plank moves. Killers.

*I hate lunges. Seriously. Hate. Them.

*I like the twisty jumps and skaters. They may be my favorite so far.

*The ab move holding the weights where you lift your legs can kiss my ass.

*The military press while kicking your legs out? Yeah, I do not have enough balance for that.

What does everyone else think? Have you moved on to Level 2 or are you going to hang around Level 1 a few more days?

I Ran!!

As some of you know, I have dreams of becoming a runner. Only I don’t run. I haven’t even tried since last summer. At that point, I could go for a few minutes, then walk for several, and then jog a few more minutes… catch my drift?

This morning I did not go to the gym because I need to be getting ready to go to the dentist, but I put on my workout gear, ventured to the treadmill in my basement, and turned it on. I did 3 minutes of warming up, then (slowly) ran. FOR SEVEN MINUTES STRAIGHT. No stopping. Yes, it was not pretty… I was huffing and puffing, sweating, the belt was slipping, but I ran FOR SEVEN MINUTES STRAIGHT.

There may be hope for me yet.

Feeling Good, Crazy I Know…

I went to the gym this morning and it felt WONDERFUL!! I had a great workout… 30 minutes on the Precor EFX, 15 minutes on the Precor AMT, and 45 minutes of weights.

I am hoping this feeling will be around for the rest of my workouts this week! ;o)
