Shrink-a-Versary END.

December 16th, 2009 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

I lost .6 lbs this week. Which would be okay, had I not GAINED 5 last week. What is it with working out and huge weight jumps for me? I am a little frustrated, to say the least.

Some positives for this challenge:

*I am working out WAY more than I was previously.

*My back is hindering me way less than it has since May!

*I quit drinking coffee. And I was a BIG coffee drinker!

*I quit buying pop for the house. I only have it if I am traveling (which is what… never) or out to eat.

*This morning, I went to the gym and did 6.13 miles. That’s a SIX in front, yo.

*I have discovered I love racquetball. Injuries and all.

*I have committed to doing the San Diego Rock n’ Roll 1/2 marathon with some of my favorite people!

So, you win some, you lose gain some. Overall, I am UP 6.2 lbs. But I think I have gained so much more than just weight.

My Globetrotting mileage:

Actual Miles: 25.8 miles

Converted racquetball miles (using the conversion chart): 43.6 miles

EAS More Workouts miles: 22.44

So, using the workout converted totals, my mileage would be:  91.84. Not too shabby at ALL.

Ole!

November 11th, 2009 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

Oh, Dear Goodness. I gained another pound back this week. I am going the WRONG WAY the last few weeks.

I admit it.

I ate Taco Johns potato oles.

I ate at Arbys.

I craved cheese.

Whatever.

Yesterday, I re-broke my gym virginity and it felt beyond awesome.

I did 3.01 miles in 40 minutes.

Songs I enjoyed during my workout:

Axel F – Crazy Frog… it’s also fun to dance to with friends while drinking vodka and video-recording yourself.

Rocket Man – My Morning Jacket.

Given to Fly – Pearl Jam.

Just thought you would want to know.

I am heading to the grocery store to buy veggies right now. For real.

Total Miles logged:  3.01 miles.

Losing Butter

September 12th, 2009 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

How’s everyone doing with your challenges? I have been plugging away with the EAS Active 30 Day Challenge! I made my hubby do two-player for 8 minutes doing sports yesterday and it was fun!

My husband got home this week after being away for a month working. He has lost almost TWENTY pounds. TWENTY POUNDS. In a MONTH. So not fair. That is like 80 STICKS OF BUTTER. He used to have a big gut and now it’s gone. I catch him staring at himself in the mirror about 500 times a day. We had to install a new front door so that he could get in and out without getting a concussion.

I miss my SIGG bottle. I sent all 7 of ours in to be exchanged for ones with the BPA-free liners. I relied on it heavily. It was my BFF. My blue SIGG would go everywhere with me and he made sure I would get my 100+ ounces of water each day. It’s just not the same without him. Dear SIGG, Please send my new bottle quickly so that I may hydrate myself adequately and lose some poundage. It’s the least you can do after fooling me into believing you were BPA-free and safe for my children. Thank you.

Have a great weekend!

EAS Day 5!

September 4th, 2009 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

I’m still plugging away at the 30 Day challenge! I felt the workout yesterday was pretty easy. I enjoyed today’s workout – I like the running and boxing. I even went so far as to do an extra 5-minute custom workout of boxing, tennis, and volleyball. If you haven’t tried the volleyball yet, I encourage you to do so! It’s fun!

Tomorrow is a rest day, but I think I will do it first thing in the morning and have Sunday as a rest day instead, since I will be out of town.

I have also found that turning the volume down and playing my own music off my computer help immensely. I made an exercise playlist this morning and lost myself in the music.

Day 2

September 1st, 2009 | Comments | Posted in Lose For Good, Melissa |

I kept the EAS Active at medium intensity today because Christy was saying there were lunges and lunges and lunges, oh my!! Well, I am glad I did… I thought yesterday was easy, so this was much better. I like the side lunges, HATE the forward lunges, my right knee feels like it is going to rip. I modified it as much as I could and didn’t go down very far on that side.

I wore a sports bra and my girls felt much, MUCH better. ;p
