Daily Mile
I think I am going to start using the Daily Mile to keep track of my Globetrotting progress! It looks awesome! Anyone else use it? Thoughts? Join me?

Are you ready for my (sort of!) race report? I didn’t train for the EA Sports 5K challenge like I had hoped to because of the disc issues in my back, but I wanted to still be a part of it! Luckily, I had an awesome team to cheer on! The Bismarck 5Kers consisted of: Megan, Lori, Kate, Kristin, and Mae.
They all did absolutely fabulous! Megan and Mae were the first-place finishers in our group and I presented them with a stunning trophy and medal for all their glorious effort and hard work. Okay, not really, but it’s my story.
I stalked them all, trying hard to be paparazzi-like. Once they were out of my camera’s reach, I laid it down on the picnic table, made the kids play on the playground, and walked/jogged the loop around the playground six times, I figure it was around 2 miles total. I totally missed Megan and Mae’s big finish, because I was on the other side of the loop. Nice, huh?
Anywhoo, here are some more photos of our day. I was totally wearing my striped socks under my pants (it was a little chilly!), but I am going to include the AWESOME, RAD photos my hubby took of me in my retro-gear to celebrate the new GLOBETROTTER challenge launching today!
And my super-radified photo shoot, courtesy of J-DOGG:
And yes, I could barely walk after performing those sweet jumps.

I wish I could say that about everything in my life!! While the rest of my life is in turmoil, my weight has been consistently heading down this challenge! I am at my lowest weight since the beginning of Shrinking Jeans! I am down 6.2 lbs since the start of this challenge. Not bad, especially considering all the birthdays, holidays, and stress.
The older two kiddos and I rushed into town from my Dad’s place Saturday morning so that we could participate in the 5K walk at 7:30am. My daughter was whining and complaining by, oh, about mile 0.5! This coming from the girl who does dance 3 hours and soccer 2 hours a week. She was dragging and clunking her feet and started to drive me INSANE! Seriously – she was worse than my 5-year-old during the last 5K. I told her and Kane that they could slow down and walk behind me if they wanted, and I stayed a good distance in front them until the end. They both finished and I am very proud of them!

I am so proud of my team Purple for landing in the top 3 of the leaderboard this week! Woo-hoo! I hope everyone is enjoying their teams as much as I am, I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful group of women!
My hubby and I did the 2 1/2-mile loop around our neighborhood development this morning. We mostly walked and had two short spurts of jogging. It was painful, but it felt good to do and even better to stretch when we got home!
I am doing a 5K in a week and had high hopes of running the whole thing. Obviously, unless an extreme miracle happens, I will be signing up to walk. Maybe I will get my “running” 5K in later this summer.
