Here Comes the Sun…

March 3rd, 2009 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

In an attempt to pull me out of my funk yesterday, my husband MADE me get out of bed and shower. I did not go to the gym, but he did drive me to the tanning salon and MAKE me go in while he waited in the car. And then we got Starbucks and went grocery shopping. Did I mention that was the first time I had left the house since going out for dinner with my Dad on Friday??

This morning I awoke with my dreams still fresh in my mind. I had dreamt of running a marathon. No lie. I actually ran and ran and ran. I remember waking up just drenched in sweat as well. That counts as a workout, right? Just kidding. ;o) I finished the 26.2 miles in two and a half hours. Holy crap! That is faster than my half-marathon time! Justin tried to analyze my dream on one of those websites, but basically I think it just means, “Hey, you need to get your ass to the gym!”

And I did. I went to the gym. It sucked. It was hard. But I went. And maybe, MAYBE, that is all I needed to make that sun start peeking through again.

  • Good job at the gym! Hopefully you were able to sweat the funk out. And good job on your husband for making you get up and go. (mine always runs through a litany of how bad my life could be, and why I don't have any reason to feel down-- which never really helps ;) )
  • I'm glad you went to the gym! You rock! :o)

It was hard, but you did it! And you're glad you did. Keep it up =)
  • I can always run super fast in my dreams and it motivates me to give running a try. Then I realize I run like I have a piano on my back and leave the marathons in my dreams. Haha.
