March 10th, 2010 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

Amazingly, I am down o.4 lbs this week.

I closed my eyes and held my breath when I stepped on the scale.

I haven’t made the best food choices.

No time to ramble.

The car is started.

Going to the gym!

Have a good week!

March 3rd, 2010 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

I ran/walked/ellipticalled 11.86 miles this past week.

I thought I may have fractured a metatarsal this past week.

Turns out, in fact, that I did not. Yay!

I stayed in control of my eating this past week, other than a little candy over the weekend.

I haven’t even had so much as a BEER this week -WHAT??!

I booked my tickets to Fitbloggin’.

I lost 2.4 lbs. Woot!

It’s Tuesday! The day where confess it all…

I have actually been doing pretty good this week. WHAT?! I know. I think the start of the new team challenge has given me a burst of motivation! Go Weight Loss Warriors!!

*I did have some candy over the weekend.

*I haven’t done my 5-mile long run yet… I had an something bad happen to a bone in my foot Thursday night when I was tucking the kiddos in and went in yesterday for an x-ray. Should find out today if it is actually a fracture or not. Nonetheless, it is feeling good, so I think I am good to go!

*I am feeling a little left out since I am not shredding with the rest of you!

Gosh, I’m BORING this week! *yawn*

Spring Fling Team Challenge Start!

February 24th, 2010 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

Today marks the day of our new challenge starting here at the Sisterhood! I am so excited about my team – we are seriously going to kick ass.

I’ve been in a huge funk lately… not really into blogging, not really into much of anything. Things are beginning to look up, however, and I am trying to get a better attitude. :)

My starting weight for this challenge is 222 lbs, up from my last weigh-in, but will be taking a nosedive next week.

I’ve still been exercising -definitely not as much as I should have last week- but when I do, according to my heart rate monitor I really burn those calories! My pants feel looser around the legs, but the scale is slow to budge, like always.

FINALE!!

February 10th, 2010 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

So, we are coming upon the end of the Rethink Your Shrink challenge.

My results this week? No change. Which, I guess, with all things considered, is okay.

You know, considering the superbowl and all.

Total down for the challenge… 3 lbs.

Total mileage for this challenge… 35 miles, plus hours of racquetball, EAS More Workouts, and weights! Not bad!

My exercise is only going to be increasing from here on out, so WATCH OUT!

Weigh-In Day::Melissa

February 3rd, 2010 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

Let’s get straight to it: I’m up 0.2 lbs.

SO annoying.

I have had the best week.

I exercised.

A lot.

I ate decent.

I even resisted ice cream last night.

Whatever.

Keep calm.

Carry on.

Shannon wrote this earlier this week, I so relate.

Timex – check.

Gruve – check.

Heading to the gym.

Weighing in with Melissa – Week 4

January 27th, 2010 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

I had a less-than-stellar week.

Husband was home for the first time in a month.

NFL Playoffs.

Yes, these are excuses.

I weighed in at 218.8 lbs, which is down 1.2 from last week.

Kickoff for Team in Training is Sunday.

I am ready.

My mind is ready.

My body is ready.

True Confessions of Melissa

January 26th, 2010 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

I have a feeling this is not going to be very pretty, folks.

I was doing alright… and then Saturday came. My husband (who hasn’t been home in a month!) got to come home from work for a few days and he does the cooking (woot!) when he is home.

Saturday night:  homemade pizza. Sure, he makes me my own special portion of pizza loaded with onions, portabella mushrooms, and green peppers, but there is still the crust and the cheese!

Sunday:  Playoff day. Not good. Homemade subs. Popcorn (with butter). Candy. You get the picture.

And then, to top it all off, I had a Drumstick last night. Not chicken, the awful(ly yummy) ice cream variety.

On the plus side… he and I played racquetball at the gym yesterday. Wonderful exercise. I came away with a contact-injury again.

I signed up for FitBloggin… now I just need to figure out a way to get to Baltimore!!

How was your week? Do Confess.

Monday Project – Why I Rock.

January 22nd, 2010 | Comments | Posted in Melissa |

This week’s Monday Project is to think of five reasons why we kick ass. I can think of about 10 million and one things about myself that I want to change, but of course, like most people, struggle with the positive side of things.

So, TA-DA! Five reasons why I rock…

#1 – I’m fun. I am a complete and total dork and I know it. I like to laugh!

#2 – I completed a 1/2 marathon and now I’m doing another one. Did I mention all the money I am raising for charity? That rocks.

#3 – I run a household with 4 (for the most part) happy children while my husband is gone for weeks and weeks at a time.

#4 – I have an adventurous, restless spirit. Some people may not think this is a good thing, but I do. I love to experience new things and want to teach my children to dream big and never settle.

#5 – It’s a toss-up between this (thanks for the idea, Christy!):

Don't Mess With Me.

or this:

I've got skills!

Down 0.6 lbs this week.

SMFD.

I thought it would be so much better.

Went to gym this morning.

You can check it out on DailyMile.

My router died.

So I must use this awful desktop.

That is all.
